I read about her story yesterday and remember thinking.. .why? Why would anyone care if a vaccinated person wears a mask or not!?
I believe your question could be more relevant now then ever!
My husband and I are fully vaccinated, however we have 7 yr old twins that, obviously are not.
The consensus is, if we are indoors and cannot remain a safe distance from others, we put on a mask.
As a member of society, an adult and parent it is my responsibility to be informed and equipped in all scenarios.
I manage the epidemic the same as any other predicament. In this case, I follow the science, mandates and common sense. Ignorance is not acceptable, especially when it comes down to life itself.
Unfortunately, I have seen too many mask less faces and been in too many establishments that do not enforce the rules. I absolutely believe that the unvaccinated will continue to go mask less. I have no illusions that the "honor system" will somehow, magically compel different behavior.
I have never ridiculed anybody about not wearing a mask. I simply react to the situation so that I can protect myself.
Which brings me back to my question.. .why would an unvaccinated person question the choice of a vaccinated person wearing a mask!?
I would never do to someone that wants to wear a mask after they didn't have to, what was done to me for not wearing one while there was a mandate at the beginning of this. People need to be kind period and not judge. Nobody knows what someone else's story is and how dare they judge/ridicule/belittle/shame or any other awful things. Let each person decide what is right for themselves.
Unlike most I wear a mask when I am outside . Not because of the virus but because I have allergies.. I have done this for years now. It prevents alot of reactions. Wearing one inside makes me feel like I am suffocating. It's torcher. I feel we need to avoid judging the people not wearing masks. We each have our own path.
Honestly, I don’t care what people do to protect themselves. Where I have a problem is when they tell me what I need to do because they’re scared or compromised. We are all in charge of our own lives. Asking millions of people to sacrifice for one person is selfish. And I’m not saying a mask is a sacrifice for all - if could be - I’m looking broader at isolations, loss of business, loss of livelihood, loss of just living life.
