I'm sorry I think this is unfair to kids. How are they going to become future entrepreneurs if they can't cover the costs of a lemonade stand? $57/mo plus booth fees. They'll be bankrupt before they ever get started, Seriously?
The man can believe whatever he wants. It doesn't make him right. He's looking for his 15 min of fame and this article just gave it to him. Y'all are idiots.
I'm glad Mr. Rivera stood up for his beliefs. I'm also glad they cleared his record. Now, let's see if he still has a job with the district at the end of the year. If he doesn't he needs to file a law suit. I wouldn't have read the book. I'd have told them to go ahead and fire me, then I would have turned around and sued them out of business. As a Christian, I am done having this nonsense shoved in my face. I have friends who are gay, friends who are lesbian. In fact, I had a cousin who was gay. Does that make them any less people? Hell, NO! As long as what they do in their home does not affect the lives of others, it's not my business. Same with all my neighbors. Now if violence in happening I want to know, and I want to help prevent it. Doesn't matter who you are. Otherwise, how you live your life is not my business. I will treat you like I want to be treated. It you think that makes me naive, that's your opinion. I'm not going out of my way to try and convince a LGBTQ+ person to change their life so it conforms to mine. I should not have to change my life so it conforms to theirs.
Kids are living their lives on cell phones and social media. Kids are dying from social media. They are killing themselves before they even have a chance to live. Kids from ages 10-18 are choosing to remove themselves from life because of the harm done on social media. This is wrong on so many levels. Facebook is a sinkhole. Go on it do what you need to do and move on. Otherwise you can find even as an adult you can lose yourself on Facebook for hours. It's not worth it.
The Smoothie King episode is wrong. It never should have happened. It's the same thing as if you say I can't serve you because you are gay, lesbian, black, Oriental, Christian Jewish, or any other stupid thing you want to throw in there. The man just wanted a smoothie. He was not handing out pamphlets or trying to make you a Trump supporter. Children need to be taught what discrimination means. Now if he was falling down drunk and rude, then you have the right not to serve him.
