District Health Department 4 charges Rogers City kids $57 to operate lemonade stand
Michigan’s District Health Department No. 4 is defending a $57 bi-monthly fee it charges for kids in Rogers City to operate a lemonade stand at a local farmer’s market.
“Food safety program provides a temporary food service permit to those who qualify, such as a low-risk, for-profit lemonade stand operating at a Farmers Market. Our previous fee schedule included a $57.00 charge for a temporary food service permit for two weeks, if an application was submitted and approval from a food safety staff member was received,” DHD4 officials wrote to WWTV.
“Michigan Food Code requires that an individual obtain a food service permit from the local Health Department whenever food will be prepared and served to the public,” the statement read. “By choosing to set up a stand at an established event, the entrepreneur is expected to follow food laws and obtain a permit to do so. Michigan Food Code does not provide exemptions based on age.”
An updated DHD4 fee schedule that took effect on Feb. 17 includes even higher fees for 2026. Click here to read more.

Democrat Who Claims the Bible Supports Transgenderism Won’t Even Honor God’s Preferred Pronouns
If you’re going to claim that God supports transgender ideology, you might want to think twice before rejecting his preferred pronoun.
The latest star of the “Religious Left” has claimed not only that Christianity is compatible with the idea that men can become women and vice versa, but that God himself is “nonbinary.”
Back in 2021, then-Texas state legislator James Talarico condemned HB25, a law preventing boys and men from competing in girls’ sports. Click here to read more.
TN School Clears Record of Christian Teacher Punished for Refusing to Read LGBTQ+ Book to First-Graders
Teacher Eric Rivera declined to read the LGBTQ+ propaganda book to his young students, citing his Christian beliefs, and instead asked a colleague to read the book, Fox News reported. In response, KIPP Antioch College Prep Elementary issued a “final warning letter” in January to Rivera for declining to read the book, according to legal group First Liberty Institute.
The following day, Rivera was asked to the principal’s office and threatened with firing, according to the report. School leadership reportedly told him he must maintain “fidelity” to the curriculum, “and a discipline letter was placed in his personnel file.”
Before the incident, Rivera had no previous warnings or history of discipline, according to First Liberty. After facing pressure from school leadership, Rivera asked for a religious accommodation but was instead reassigned to a lab and technology position and then to a kindergarten class, per the report. Ignoring the Science: The Curious Case of Cell Phone Bans
The push to “protect” children from cell phones and social media is gaining momentum worldwide. As EU and Asian countries consider legal limits on minors’ access to social media, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was grilled in a Los Angeles courtroom last week about whether his company’s popular apps, which include Facebook and Instagram, are addictive.
That question already seems to have been resolved in the public mind. Pennsylvania now seems poised to become the 32nd state to ban or limitg cell phones in its public schools. A parent leader who supports the ban told the Philadelphia Inquirer the legislation is necessary to “detach kids from addictive devices” and “break the dopamine feedback loop.” Click here to read more.
Michigan Smoothie King employees fired after denying service to customer wearing Trump shirt
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (FOX 2) - Two workers at an Ann Arbor Smoothie King are out of jobs after allegedly refusing service to a couple because of a Trump shirt.
Erika Lindemyer recorded the encounter after they say the employees at the smoothie shop on Jackson Road told them they weren’t comfortable serving them because her husband had a hoodie with President Donald Trump’s name on it.
In the video, the couple was heard telling the employees that what they were doing is discrimination and a crime, while the employees replied that they don’t have to serve them. Click here to read more.

The Smoothie King episode is wrong. It never should have happened. It's the same thing as if you say I can't serve you because you are gay, lesbian, black, Oriental, Christian Jewish, or any other stupid thing you want to throw in there. The man just wanted a smoothie. He was not handing out pamphlets or trying to make you a Trump supporter. Children need to be taught what discrimination means. Now if he was falling down drunk and rude, then you have the right not to serve him.
Kids are living their lives on cell phones and social media. Kids are dying from social media. They are killing themselves before they even have a chance to live. Kids from ages 10-18 are choosing to remove themselves from life because of the harm done on social media. This is wrong on so many levels. Facebook is a sinkhole. Go on it do what you need to do and move on. Otherwise you can find even as an adult you can lose yourself on Facebook for hours. It's not worth it.
