What Is the Michigan Economic Development Corp and Why Some Want It Defunded

In my interview with Marjorie Steele of EDRA, she explained how the group is pushing for accountability in Michigan’s economic development system. Steele said the MEDC often funnels taxpayer and gambling dollars into projects that fail to deliver promised jobs, creating conflicts of interest. She noted bipartisan concern is growing and legislation is being introduced to scale back or dismantle the MEDC.
