We all need a vacation
Take some time for yourself and your family
I traded in the snow and cold of Michigan for the sun and humidity of Florida over the past five days. I took off to Orlando, Florida with the family to enjoy the sunshine state.
According to Allinahealth.org these are just some of the advantages of taking a vacation:
Improved physical health. Stress can contribute to heart disease and high blood pressure. ...
Improved mental health. ...
Greater well-being. ...
Increased mental motivation. ...
Improved family relationships. ...
Decreased burnout. ...
Boosted happiness.
I have a problem with living in the moment, even when I am on vacation. During this vacation, I focused on my family and did my best to take in everything as it came —- the sunshine, palm trees, and even the intense lightning show at night outside of our hotel.
I am blessed that I am able to afford to go on a vacation and able to give that experience to my family. A vacation is not only a time to get away from work, but also to grow your connection to your family.
If you can’t afford to go to Florida or somewhere far away I urge you to do whatever it takes to take a break from your everyday routine to enjoy life and family. As I always say, it could all be taken away at a moment’s notice.
I recently started listening to this song by Ty Herndon, “Living in a moment.” The song describes my life and what I hope for.
The following is a line in the song that really hits close to me:
“And when they carve my stone all they'll need to write on it
Is 'Once lived a man who got all he ever wanted'
Tell me something, who could ask for more?
Than to be living in a moment you would die for”
In addition to giving you the news of the day on television and social media, I also feel an obligation to use my following to make society a better place. I will always try to spread positivity and life messages that may impact you in a positive way.
Take some time for yourself, you won’t regret it.

When we go on vacation, we go up to our cabin in St. Helen, Michigan
I completely agree. If I'd not had two weeks in SC in February, I'm not sure I'd be here.
