I had the aunt of one of my students come to my classroom for three days to sit beside him. Then she reported to my supervisor, that she heard I was neglecting the students in my classroom once I taught the lesson and gave them ten to twenty math problems to do. I had welcomed her to sir where she pleased. She code to sit next to her nephew. I taught the math lesson. I had given them all primary paper cut long ways because we were learning to carry numbers. I explained it was like learning to drive a car you have to drive on the right hand side of the road. Our problems start in the right hand column. We wrote our top number on the paper. I walked around the room and checked every student's paper. Then I wrote the second part of the problem on the paper. Once I knew they had the problem down, we went through it together. We added the two numbers in the right column. I explained, just like driving, we cannot have two cars in the same lane. I reminded them we had hundreds, tens, then ones. Where were we going to put the extra number. We put it in our tens column. I explained why. We went through this about three times and I gave them their assignment. I walked around the room, reminding some to remember their their columns, others to look at their addition. I think after three days, the aunt was convinced the rumor she heard was wrong. On day two instead of collecting their papers I gave them each a marker and they took turns doing the problem at the board and every one had to check their answer and tell me why they're problem didn't match the one on the board. That's transparency.
So glad my child is out of college. And the school board should be damned glad I don't have a child in their district. Because they'd all be out on their asses.
Maybe there should be cameras in class rooms and halls to help the parents or legal guardian understand where their own child is having problems. It may even help with the bulling situation.
that is insane. I used to go in freely to my children's schools with no problem at all. What are they afraid of?
Time for a lawyer.
The other students in that class have rights too. This is most likely a helicopter mom who wants to stir up trouble

I think all parents should be able to do this.
