We have extra counselors in the building that day. Because you never know when a child might tell an adult something. There is program for K-2 and a program for 3rd and 4th grade. All I can say is that no one has ever objected to this program in the schools for one day. We even had some students who asked to talk to a counselor. A couple led to children being removed from the home. Not always for something sexual. My daughter was in high school when she approached me about not feeling okay around a person. The person had done nothing but the feeling was there. We removed that person from her life. No issue was made. Parents make sure your child has someone at school they trust. One adult they know they can go to if someone is making them uncomfortable. That's important.

The answer to this, is to stop exporting our beef, chicken and pork. It's part of why people hunt deer. To supplement the cost of beef. Getting beef that hasn't been feed hormones or antibiotics is almost impossible in this country. It costs more for farmer to have range free beef. We have been selling farm land for condos and ritzy subdivisions. Not to mention selling farms to the Chinese who don't the farm them. I am so sick of the shit.
Stop calling them education lotteries! They do absolutely NOTHING for education. If you truly believe they do you are nuts. That's how they were introduced. What happened is the state education fund disappeared when the lottery was put into place. It was to supplement the education fund only every single state with one replaced the education fund with them. What happens when the economy tanks? People stop playing the lottery. Food and shelter becomes more important. What happens to education when the lottery fund isn't big enough? Well, it used to be that 8% of the Native American casinos went to education in Michigan. However, that is no longer true. They now pay nothing to the state of Michigan, because Michigan broke the treaty agreement(no surprise there) on casinos. The only casinos allowed in Michigan were Native American, until the state allowed three non-Native American casinos to appear in Detroit. The Native American casinos now only donate to those schools in their immediate area. They want better education for their own. I totally understand where they are coming from. Kudoes to the woman who won $500,000 on a scratch off ticket. I used to play the lottery. I learned a long time ago, I'd have better odds of winning in a casino, than playing the lottery.
