Targeted Attack: FBI Searches for Suspect After Vehicle Crashes into Pittsburgh FBI Building Gate
Officials investigating after vehicle slams into FBI building gate in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH, PA - Federal authorities are seeking Donald Henson, of Penn Hills, after he allegedly crashed a vehicle into the gate of the FBI building on Pittsburgh’s South Side late Wednesday morning. The incident, described by investigators as a “targeted attack,” occurred around 2:40 a.m.
No one was injured in the crash, according to the FBI. After driving into the gate, witnesses say Henson exited the vehicle, draped an American flag over the gate, then fled the area on foot.

Nearby workers who saw the incident reported hearing screeching tires and then seeing the aftermath. One witness, Nakeisha Brown, said she initially thought Henson pulled out a gun when he exited the car. It turned out to be a flag. She said he placed it on the fence and began shouting. Other witnesses described him as incoherent as he walked away
According to the FBI, Henson is a former military member who has had mental health issues. He allegedly visited the same FBI office about two weeks earlier to file a complaint, which federal officials say was unfounded and did not make sense. This, plus the timing and nature of the crash, has led them to investigate the incident as a targeted attack on the FBI building.
At this time, there is no indication that Henson was armed during the incident. But authorities believe he is dangerous and are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
