District removes substitute after serious allegations surface, police investigating
SWARTZ CREEK, Mich. — A substitute teacher is no longer working for Swartz Creek Community Schools after allegations surfaced of an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to a letter sent to district families.
Interim Superintendent Jim Kitchen confirmed the teacher’s employment was terminated as soon as the district became aware of the allegations. Kitchen said the district is cooperating fully with law enforcement as the investigation continues.

“For the protection of the student involved and to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation, we are unable to share additional details at this time,” Kitchen wrote.
He emphasized that student safety remains the district’s top priority. “We will continue to take every step necessary to ensure that our schools are safe, supportive environments for all students,” he said.
No additional information about the substitute teacher or the student has been released.

Glad to know the school took immediate action on this issue.
This makes me sick. I had the misfortune to work with a pedophile. I'm not sure justice will ever be served in that case. The family was torn apart. The victim's sister feels as though she's lost the family member she knew and things will never be completely right again. The victim has moved out of Michigan and doubt will ever permanently return. Because I don't care what the crime is, there are always other casualties along with it. It's worse in a small community where if their not family they know you and it was a splash in the news and on TV for months and then later when a technicality freed the abuser it was in the news again. I don't believe it's over yet.
My heart goes out to the victim in this case. I'll let you guess what my imagination would like to see happen to the alleged abuser.
