Stay connected despite the social media algorithm

A message from me, to you.

Hello everyone:

Do you understand how social media works when it comes to you seeing content?

I have about 90,000 people following me on Facebook.
On any given post about five to six thousand people will see my posts if I am lucky.

In the below example I posted a picture of the sun with an inspirational quote and was lucky enough to have Facebook show my post to 9,908 people of my 90,000 followers on Facebook.

The purpose of the Facebook algorithm is to make sure you are seeing content that you are most interested in.

With all of you following thousands of people, and media I understand it would be impossible for you to see all the posts at any one time.

So, just because you follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram doesn’t mean you are going to see all of my content.

The more you comment, like, or share my content, the more you will see it on your news feed.

The main reason I started a Substack account was so that I could have a direct way to communicate with all of you without dealing with any social media companies.

At times, I will write newsletters on Substack about a certain topic or something happening in my life, but mostly I have Substack so I can stay in direct communication with all of you in case one of the social media companies ban me or I get hacked, or something unforeseen happens and I lose contact with all of you.

As you can see you have a lot of choices as to where you can follow me on social media.
My goal is to inform all of you and bring a sense of realness and positivity in the world we live in.

I am someone who believes in being unbiased in the news and providing depth and perspective and telling all stories and all sides to a story.

I believe in holding government officials accountable and appreciate your feedback on stories.
