I’m thrilled they’re keeping it! People just don’t want to know the truth or hear the truth, so they feel threatened but it’s perfectly ok for them to tell your students how to think and what gender you are, enough is enough!
Is this truly a political group or is it just a group trying to have conversations about current affairs, that affect them. My thoughts on Turning Point. USA, and please correct me if I am wrong, is to open dialogue and listen to opposing sides. To actually get kids thinking about how changes can be made. It only takes one person with a good idea to make a huge change. For instance taking an old Victorian home on several acres and planting a tree line all the way around it after fencing it in. Then completely remodeling the house to accommodate women who have been rescued from being trafficked. They have in house counselors and the privacy to venture into the gardens, to finish their education or get other job skills. A time to heal and a chance to see loved ones they may not have seen for years, in safety. Or to take a 7000 acre farm and turn it into a homeless shelter and a place for displaced children. How about the child who got people to donate blankets when his own money ran out so he could help the homeless stay warm in winter. It only takes one person to care. It only takes one teen to have an idea to get everyone talking and thinking to generate ideas on how to change their little section of the world. Take the movie Pay it Forward. How many people are still doing that? I know I do. I know my daughter and her husband and children do. It has to start somewhere and talking is the first step.
