Remains of Missing Man Jacob Angeles Found, Family Asks for Privacy
Family confirms discovery after weeklong search; community support praised as loved ones grieve
HOLLY, Mich. — The search for 22-year-old Jacob Angeles has come to a tragic end. Family members confirmed late Thursday night that his remains were found after nearly a week of uncertainty surrounding his disappearance.
My prayers are going out to family and friends.
Angeles was last seen on Aug. 16 at the Michigan Renaissance Festival in Holly. His 2006 silver Jeep Commander was later spotted in Saginaw that same day. A FLOCK camera captured the vehicle entering the I-675 ramp to northbound I-75 around 4:16 p.m. Despite extensive searches, Angeles never returned home and missed his 3 a.m. work shift — something his family said was completely out of character.
Police say no foul play is suspected.
Police reported that medical personnel had no record of contact with him on the day he vanished. Authorities had asked the public to review dash cam footage and photos for possible sightings of Angeles or his vehicle, urging anyone with information to contact the Rockwood Police Department.
In a statement, the family said they are “heartbroken” by the discovery and are still awaiting more information as they begin to process the loss.
“They deeply appreciate the outpouring of love and support from the community — it has truly meant the world to them,” the statement read. “However, they kindly ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time. They are not in a place to answer questions or respond to messages, and we ask that friends and loved ones refrain from reaching out right now while they grieve and search for answers.”
Loved ones said a GoFundMe page will soon be launched to help cover funeral expenses. Details will be shared once it is available.
The family thanked the public again for their compassion and understanding, asking the community to continue keeping Jacob in their thoughts.
