One Suspect in Custody After Orion Township Carjacking and Shooting Near Old Navy
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing and more information is expected to be released.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting and carjacking that happened Tuesday evening outside the Old Navy store on Baldwin Road in Orion Township. Authorities said the incident occurred near Baldwin and Brown roads, just north of Interstate 75, around 5:43 p.m.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the victim suffered a gunshot wound that is believed to be non life threatening. Deputies said the suspects fled the area after the shooting and the investigation remains ongoing.
Witnesses and residents reported a heavy police response in northern Oakland County following the incident. Citizen reports shared online claimed law enforcement officers from multiple agencies, including Michigan State Police and undercover officers, were seen heading toward the Holly, Wildwood Road, Grange Hall Road and Dixie Highway areas.

One resident reported the suspects may have crashed the stolen Jeep into a guardrail before fleeing on foot. Helicopters were also reportedly seen assisting in the search.
One suspect has been taken into custody.
