I have life time membership so PAC money is over and above dues money. My dues money was paid in full years ago. They do NOT represent me. As a retired Michigan teacher who lives out of Michigan, they do no support me in any way. Yes, my pension comes from the state. MY MONEY I PAID into a retirement fund that FAT JOHN ENGLER stole $632million from while I was still working. Money that was for our insurance when we retired. Which we could have afforded had he not stolen it. Please do NOT open the Constitution. They will cancel my retirement fund and I will lose what money I am still owed. I still have the papers showing what I paid in and my district had to match those funds. I was also able to buy 5 years of teaching. The district did not have to match that. Then Snidely Whiplash took office and decided that since retired teachers got a 3% raise in October he was taking 4.75% in Jan. from our pension the first year and 4.25% every year after that. I no longer live in MI. They can no longer take that from me. I paid extra into retirement for the privilege of having a 3% raise every October. But it's not 3% of my current raise. It's the same 3% I got after my first full year of retirement. Which in all honesty comes to about $69/mo. Which doesn't cover the cost of the increase in my healthcare coverage. I have the worst coverage you can get. Because of my income. I am penalized for having a Medicare Advantage Plus program I didn't want in the first place. Don't get me started. I would rather not belong to MEA/NEA. They have abandoned seniors. I don't like people telling me how to think. I choose the candidate I think will best represent me. Fat John and Snidely Whiplash were Republicans who screwed Michigan teachers. Not all republicans are good people either. Snidely should be in jail for what happened in Flint and those people cannot get out of their lead filled homes.
