Reading means you put reading experts in K-3 and make sure you don't have more than 18 students in a classroom. If it's math look at where your kids are falling in math. My guess would be between 5th and 8th grades. Put your math experts there. You can raise the kids to 20/class. Next are you teaching the stupid Core Curriculum? Toss it out. Lose reading first that puts K-3 in a reading class for 120 minutes uninterrupted a day. It's a program that has failed. Remind every teacher in the district, they are teaching little humans not the curriculum. Set a measurable goal for each grade. Tell parents your children must know all the letters of the alphabet an their sounds to complete Kindergarten, they must know all the numbers from 1-100. They must recognize the numbers on flash cards. They must know colors Orange, Red, Yellow, Green, Blue Indigo, and Purple, the colors of the rainbow. Also white and black. They will be able to sound out short words and know if they rhyme. They will be able to write their first and last name, their address, and phone number. They will be able to write simple sentences and spell simple words. Send this home at the first of the year. Do the same for every grade. Parents cannot even understand all the crap in outcomes for students these days. Don't believe me. Go to your local school website and look at the curriculum for kindergarten. They are trying to make these kids first graders when what they need to be learning is how to play and talk to each other.
Two things here. Discord has been having issues for a while now with predators grooming kids. Maybe kids should not be on Discord. Two this whole situation makes me ill and is why I firmly believe pedophiles should have to be in the general public and not solitary confinement. They have everything that is coming to them in the general population. Solitary is too good for them. We have to get kids away from computers as their only form of play. They need to be outside riding bikes, playing basketball, neighborhood baseball, playing backyard games, dominoes, ring toss, climbing trees, building forts. They don't need to be in front of a computer more than an hour a day. Get them off Facebook and Instagram and any other social media. They don't need the aggravation in their lives. No cell phone until they are at least 15 or 16. They don't need them. Have a family game night every week. Parents you have to know your kids to know when they are in crisis.
This is a fancy way of saying they have vouchers now, right? That means they can get tax dollars to put their children in private and Christian schools. Does it also say that people over 65 years of age no longer have to pay school taxes? They shouldn't by that time their children should be through school.
Kudos to Officer Robbins. I don't know that I could have done that. I have a depth perception problem in one eye and it makes me extremely afraid of heights. The older I get the worse the fear seems to be. I respect a person who can put aside their own fears to rescue a child or anyone for that matter.
