I'm confused. I live in a state that does not tax groceries or prescription medications. Why would they want to if the state is stopping the tax? That's sad. Everything else in Kentucky is taxed. Car insurance, home insurance, I'm surprised they don't tax health insurance. It's crazy. They are taxing people out of Kentucky. If I paid my car insurance monthly two months of the year would be nothing but sales tax. The same with my home insurance. Insurance is a racket in and of itself. You pay for years. You need to file a claim once and your rates are raised and you are locked into your insurance for years. How is that right? Why in God's name do you need tax groceries????

This has nothing to do with "Woke" and everything to do with "Core Curriculum." Core Curriculum which was adopted Nationwide until about a dozen states looked at it and said, "Ain't NO WAY!" I was one of those wonderful I states, Iowa, Indiana, or Illinois who first took a stand. According to the Core Curriculum, teachers can only read what is in the teacher's manual to teach. If Billie Jean doesn't understand, the teacher cannot break it into something understandable, s/he can only repeat what she has already said. That is NOT teaching. It NEVER will be. So, the first thing we have to do is THROW AWAY THE CORE CURRICULUM. If you have not seen or been exposed the the math portion of the this nonsense, they tried it in 1967-68 and called it MODERN MATH. It was the most nonsensical thing I was ever exposed to in a math class. It had no basis in reality. It still doesn't. NO ONE in the WORLD uses a base 3 or a base 7 system for counting. We all use base 10. That would be number 1.
The second thing we need to do is eliminate screen time in K-3. Those kids can play on computers at home. They don't need them in school. EVER. Kindergarten needs to not be 2nd grade expectations. Kindergarten needs to be socialization, getting along, learning numbers 1-100 and recognizing them. It is learning the alphabet and the letters in any order along with their accompanying sounds. It is learning to write your own name. It is a time of exploration. They need to know their addresses. Do you have any idea how many kids in 3-6 grade don't know their address??? How about their phone number? They don't need cell phones before age 16. If Mom and Dad choose cell phones over a landline phone and their child gets home first, leave a cell phone on the counter so they can call home and let you know they arrived safely. Simple concept. They need to know how and when to dial 911. They need to learn how to problem solve simple things. Joey has a toy Bobby wants. It is not acceptable for Bobby to rip the toy out of Joey's hand. And if Bobby does, Joey cannot retaliate by hitting Bobby. Gee, if we taught kids how to settle things when they were 5 maybe they wouldn't resort to gun violence when they are 15.
Kids need pencils, paper, and the skills to read, write, and do 'rithmatic. All those things we were taught that could be measured on a test. All those landmarks we all crossed and some of us became millionaires. Others worked good jobs in skilled labor, building trades, manufacturing, or just being good old fashioned farmers. Not all of us went to college. Some of us served in the military. Some went to college on the GI Bill, others didn't even make it home. We grew up before there was even special education and we made it.
All of us grew up before the Bush Administration's No Teacher Left Standing. Or as the world knows it No Child Left Behind.... but that's exactly what we did. We left them all behind. Reading First, is the absolute worst program ever rolled out by the Department of Education and it was followed by Core Curriculum neither of which are based on any research I have been able to find.
Give kids back their recesses. Kids need play to learn. They have been deprived of play for longer than I can to think about. You expect kids who have more energy than they know what to do with to sit 7 hours a day. Are you INSANE! Even employers are made to give employees a 15 min break in the morning 30 min for lunch and a 15 min break in the afternoon for an 8 hour day. Kids don't get that any more. Whatever LUNATIC thought this was a good idea has NEVER set foot in a classroom to try and teach.
And kids come to school with the weight of the world on their shoulders today. Mom and Dad had and argument last night and Mom had to go to ER. They couldn't leave the kids alone so, the kids had to go to Grandma's. No the police weren't called. Or they fear that someone will come into the school and start shooting. They don't want to come to school because this will be the third day they came to school in the same shirt and kids will laugh at them. There is no water at the house because Mom couldn't pay the bill so they haven't had a shower since it rained last Saturday. They smell and the other kids don't want to be near them, much less play with them. We didn't get any dinner last night. Mom was drinking and Dad wasn't home. There was no cereal for breakfast and we were out of milk. I don't have any money to buy breakfast. Teachers have to deal with this and the things kids don't say.
There is so much more to teaching that just a test score. And we are doing all the wrong things because the people in the Department of Education are political appointees and not teachers who have been there done that.
These three illegal amigos, get the death penalty. They don't understand anything else. Put them in jail for 10-20 years and they only thing they will become is worse than they are now. They have broken God's law. As far as I'm concerned an eye for an eye becomes a life for a life and all three had a hand in taking a life so all three die. Sooner rather than later.

There is no sun in most of Michigan for 6 months out of the year. It won't support solar. If y'all haven't figured this out yet I don't know what to tell you. Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, parts of Idaho, Utah, and Colorado none of you can support solar power. Along with parts of New York Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massechusettes, Connecticut, and Rhode Island... just write solar off your power ideas. You don't have enough sun to support this. There is no hope of solar taking over some of your power grid with great success.
