CHICAGO, IL - A shakeup at the Illinois Prisoner Review Board has Republicans calling for reforms.
Illinois Senate Minority Leader John Curran, R-Downers Grove, said the resignation of two people from the PRB Monday, member LeAnn Miller and Chair Donald Shelton, following a recent parolee allegedly murdering a child and stabbing their mother is “another example of [Gov. J.B. Pritzker] failing to oversee an agency under his control.”
State Sen. Jason Plummer, R-Edwardsville, said the PRB shouldn’t be under Pritzker’s control. Click link for more.

The bill would allow law enforcement to remove squatters who can’t produce a notarized lease signed by the landowner or proof that they are paying rent for the property.
Additionally, there would be penalties for individuals who produce fraudulent leases that are commonly used by squatters. Click here to read more.
ANN ARBOR, Mich - Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking the advice of 8-year-olds on how to cut $25 million from the district’s budget, a move forced by financial mismanagement since the pandemic.
“Students in grades 3 through 8 will have the opportunity to share their feedback by completing age-appropriate surveys in school after Spring Break,” AAPS officials wrote in a letter to parents last week. “Members of the district leadership team have also been meeting with diverse, representative groups of students to hear directly from them about their priorities regarding their school experiences.
“We plan to visit as many schools as possible over the coming weeks to engage with staff and students to get feedback and input,” the letter read.
The student outreach is in addition to a survey of staff, parents, high school students, and community members, as well as three community meetings scheduled for April 8.

Chicago board of Prisons is much like Michigan threatening to let violent criminals out of jail. Ridiculous! Reopen the prisons you have closed. Shift prisoners around, but violent criminals do NOT get released to repeat offend. It's why we have the three strikes you're out law. Okay the person with 3 DUIs who has never done anything but wreck their own car, you can release them, but put them in mandatory AA meetings. Don't renew their driver's license. Don't let them register or buy a car. With those conditions in place, you can release them. Not if they have kicked someone. Rapists, I'm all for castration chemical or otherwise. Then you could consider releasing them. Their victim/s need to be informed first. Anyone one else who has committed a violent crime or a crime against children, or with a weapon, stays in jail until time is served or death overcomes them.
Do not get me stated on illegal aliens caught participating in violence toward women. Two are dead now and at least two I know of have been raped. Of them, at least two have been deported at least once. If this doesn't stop, there is going to be a full-fledged uprising long before November elections. Democrats should be aware they are on the chopping block for many voters.
