Ann Arbor spent $4.5 million of its ARPA funds on solar panels
Ann Arbor spent $4.5 million of the $24 million it received through the American Rescue Plan Act on solar power infrastructure. It was the city’s largest allocation of the funds and listed in the category “Replacement of Lost Public Sector Revenue.”
The city used funds in ways consistent with federal guidelines, Mariah Walton, Ann Arbor’s deputy city administrator, wrote to Michigan Capitol Confidential in an email. Federal rules “allowed local governments to use funds for general services if they experienced revenue shortfalls,” Walton added.
The U.S. Department of Treasury let local governments treat up to $10 million of their federal relief money as if it were general revenue that would have been collected if not for the COVID-19 pandemic. The American Rescue Plan Act was a $1.9 trillion spending package enacted in 2021 under the Biden administration. Click here to read more.
ICE nabs illegal alien child sex offender from Cuba in Michigan over Thanksgiving weekend
As Michiganders celebrated the Thanksgiving weekend, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents continued work around the clock to give them something to be thankful for.
The Department of Homeland Security on Monday highlighted the arrests of numerous rapists, pedophiles, and murderers over the holiday weekend, including at least one child sex abuser in Michigan.
“While Americans enjoyed a long holiday weekend with their families and friends, ICE law enforcement was hard at work arresting rapists, child sex abusers and murderers,” an unidentified DHS spokesperson said in a statement.
“Every American should be grateful to our law enforcement officers for putting their lives on the line each and every day to remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens,” the statement read. “Despite what the media and sanctuary politicians claim, 70% of ICE arrests are of criminal illegal aliens convicted or charged with a crime in the U.S.” Click here to read more.

Out of Sight: Following the Money Trail of Missing Child Border Crossers
On the campaign trail, Vice President JD Vance repeatedly chastised the Biden administration for allegedly losing track of some 320,000 minors who had crossed the border unaccompanied. “Our government, under the policies of Kamala Harris, has lost thousands of innocent children to sex trafficking, to drug trafficking, to human trafficking,” Vance said.
One year later, the fate of most of those children remains unknown. While the Trump administration has all but stopped the crush of migrants that occurred during Biden’s term, neither the government nor the nonprofits that were largely responsible for resettling this vulnerable population of unaccompanied minors have been able to tell RealClearInvestigations where they are living. Somali Scandal Could Sink Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s Political Career
A scandal involving hundreds of millions of dollars stolen from a federally funded nutrition program may starve Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s (D) chances of a political future, the Hill reported Saturday.
The controversy, involving Minnesota’s influential Somali community, focuses on millions stolen from the program and has led to more than 50 convictions. Federal prosecutors accused dozens of people of stealing funds from a government program that was to feed children during the coronavirus pandemic.
The New York Times put the story on the radar of legacy media outlets on November 29, with a report that federal prosecutors said as much as $1 billion in taxpayer money may have been stolen in separate fraudulent schemes. Click here to read more.

I did a lot of research into what was happening to children who were unaccompanied coming across our borders in 2023. At the very least 85,000 managed to cross our borders alone and were lost. They never went through the system. They crossed after dark away from main border crossings. They were picked up by strangers or made their way into cities and are lost in the world of the homeless. Many who came through the channels and were alone had a number written on their clothing, arms, or legs in marker and were put on buses to the east. The two numbers went to supposed foster homes. You want to tell me what family can house 100 children at a time? The children were sent to traffickers. They were sold and shipped all over the US, Canada, to Europe and the Middle East. Only God knows if these children will ever be seen again. Most of them came from the triangle countries of Guatamala, El Savador and Honduras. In those countries the life expectancy of a child is 10 years. After that they are either dead or gang members, drug runners, or sex slaves. Parents were sending their children off together in hopes they would have a better life in the US. Sadly, those same children have mostly ended up exactly where they would have ended had they stayed at home. No one in this country gave a damn. They were not seen as children, they were seen as illegal aliens who had no right to be here. Some of them sit in the same classrooms as your children. They are quiet and keep their heads down. School is the safest place for them. They work hard hoping that one day they will escape the hell they are living in. You could help. You could ask you own children if there are any Hispanic kids in their classrooms. Have them point the kids out to you. Watch the kids. Are they running happily to parents after school? Does any parent show up for them at school? These children don't want to draw attention to themselves. They don't make friends because they could be missing by Friday. No one will ever know where they went. If you have been watching, you might know. You might be able to lead police to where these children are being held. They in turn might find and rescue some children in slavery. You will have saved lives. Be concerned. Be diligent. Save children.
And what exactly does Ann Arbor think will happen with $4.5million in solar panels. Did no one tell them they live in a valley? Do they not understand that from November through March and part way into April there will not be enough sun to generate what they are hoping for? With all the super brains in A2, you'd think someone would have been smart enough to know this? I know they don't work in the winter in the Flint River Basin. At least not in the Genesee County part of it. If y'all are stupid enough to give up farmland for solar farms, what are you going to do when there are meat shortages? Eat the solar panels. Good luck with that, because the land under the solar panels will never be farmland again.
