Eighteen years from 2008 is 2026. We have seen the cost of housing rise to ridiculous. I keep telling everyone not to buy houses this year. Interest is too high, 20% down is not going to be enough. You don't want to be stuck with a $2000 or more a month house payment. Think of it you all know what's going to tank first. Housing It always does. There is a list out of the top 11 restaurants that will be gone or highly reduced by the end of the year. Top of the list Olive Garden is shutting down 900 restaurants nation wide. Jack-in-the-Box and Dell Rio Taco. Applebee's has filed for bankruptcy no details on how many will close. Denny's 70 are closing, mostly in small towns, Red Robin 70 are closing, TGI Friday's has filed bankruptcy again, there are only 85 left in the US, look for them to be gone. On the Border 70 are closing, Hooters in Chapter 11, not known how many will be gone, McDonald's is shutting some of it's doors, not saying how many, Chipotle's is slowing down and not starting new projects, Popeyes was down 4% in quarter 3, they are restructuring, Burger King is already closing some. Why is this happening? Two reasons: 1. People are not eating out as much. 2. They know what's coming.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Family Dollar had planned to close 370 stores when their leases ran out. Today in the news Family Dollar announced they are closing probably all the stores as the leases rung out. CVS is closing 271 stores in 2025. They are restructuring. 7/11 is closing 148 stores and is planning to shift their focus to food. Big Lots is selling the leases to their stores 480 of them. Walgreen's is closing 1200 by 2028, that's 300 stores for the next three years.
Are you getting the picture? We are headed for a DEPRESSION bigger than 1929. It is predicted that we will not fully recover until 2030. That's four years of food shortages, other necessity shortages. Don't laugh at your neighbors who are preppers or survivalists. They have been preparing for this for years..
President Trump took the high road. He created DOGE to audit the departments of the government and then he slashed them. There is a reason he did it that way. The less the government owes, the earlier we can recover. Don't get me wrong. I'm a conservative who has always voted for the person I felt could best do the job. I have been let down by both parties. You won't see me at rallies. Not my thing. I dislike crowds. I use my voting privilege to show my disappointment. Even if it means voting for some one I'm not a fan of.
Take a deep breath. Take all of this in. Think about what you need to do between now and the end of the year. Remember if everything goes as predicted your bank will be closed, too. No access to your money. You'd better have more than a couple of dollars and change to support yourself. Or hope you can barter well. Because when the money runs out, we'll all be dependent on the government.
No one should have to go to court to get Jocelyn Benson to do her job. Those 27,000 dead voters should have been taken off the voting rolls two years ago before the national election. That shouldn't be allowed. I know it doesn't work with MEA-Michigan Education Association and NEA-the National Education Association. If you are the President of MEA, you have to give up your job to be an officer in NEA. The MEA President cannot be President of AFT- the American Federation of Teachers- the union that covers most of the Detroit Metro area and into the suburbs. The AFT is part of the AFL-CIO. They are not a part of NEA.
I had never heard of the CBP One app until I read this article. So, it fast tracked criminals into this country? Who created the app? That person needs to be in jail, too. It obviously didn't do a background check on the person who used it. Or maybe it wasn't supposed to.
I hope the unions fail in this lawsuit. I know too many people who have had tragedy strike their family because an illegal got behind the wheel of a car and ran someone down and killed them. A good friend of mine lost his 37 year old son to an illegal who was driving drunk in a borrowed pickup truck, crossed and killed this young man on the way to work. The drunken illegal walked away without a scratch. The young man left a wife and two year old son, plus his mom, dad, and sister to mourn him. There were extended family and friends also, but the point is this guy had no driver's license of any kind. He'd never driven in whatever South or Central American country he came from. Most illegals can't even speak English, how on earth do you expect them to drive in this country?
There was a woman in Ohio whose mom went to watch her two grandsons play basketball. The boys were 7th and 8th grade and the middle school was four blocks from Grandma's house. It was a Saturday after noon game. Grandma refused a ride home because she needed to stretch her legs after sitting so long. She'd see them at dinner. The were heading to dinner a couple hours later and half a block from Grandma's there were police cars and an ambulance. They had tried to save Grandma, She'd walked two blocks back to a little store to get something she needed for dinner. An illegal with no license to drive came racing around the corner and didn't turn correctly. He ran right up onto the sidewalk and slammed into Grandma. They tried but couldn't save her. She went for a cake she'd ordered before the games started. She had intended to get it on the way home and was enjoying the nice day and forgot. She turned around and went back. It was on her way home she was hit from behind. Neighbors detained the man who hit her. Again driving a car he had no idea how to drive.
They need to be here and take driver's training and do all the driving a 16 yr old has to do to get a license. Then he has to get in a car with a police officer and demonstrate he knows what he is doing. Before he ever takes the test.
And how is that lawsuit in the best interest of public employee union members?
