It makes me mad that people with money choose to send their children to private schools then bitch because their tax dollars go to public schools. There was a time that there was no money for public schools through taxation. Local schools supplied the money for the education. They were a part of the city, town, or county budgets. Because that's who owned them. They didn't collect tax dollars for them they put them in their budgets. So, I am hoping the Supreme Court will uphold the prohibition. Show me there is some sanity left in our pathetic government. Those in the lowest school districts will be hit the hardest. While there are still some schools in Michigan sitting on $54,000,000 slush funds. Smaller districts can barely maintain the $3,000,000 to keep themselves running. There is no equity in funding. I know teachers who have taken huge pay cuts and ended up paying most of their own insurance rather than lose their districts. Many of them have jumped ship for more stable better paying districts and find themselves driving farther and farther to work. What I would rather see is anyone over the age of 65 not having to pay school tax at all.
I don't know about Alabama. I do know if you are over 65 in Kentucky your property taxes are reduced by the first $30,000 of what you would pay if you were younger. But I still pay school tax on everything. Internet, insurance, property taxes, cell phone, and electricity. I think water is the only thing there is no school tax on. Even my car plates have property and school taxes.
Funding is most likely coming from the same person who funded the riots in Louisville, Ky and after the George Floyd incident, and the attack on the Capitol Building in Washington, D. C. Anyone know his name? I sure do. George Soros and he needs to be in jail. Only if he goes to jail he takes 75% of our government officials with him because he owns them.
Released so she can break in to someone else's home? Send the bitch to jail where she belongs. She was caught in the act. She is NOT entitled to be out of jail.
Whitless has broken every promise she ever made to Michigan voters. Had she had a better opponent in the last election I know at least 30 people who would not have voted for her and those are just the ones I know. If I know 30, I'd bet each of those 30 know about 30 more. She's almost as worthless as Snydely Whiplash was. He should be in jail for his abominable handling of the Flint water crisis that sitll continues.
Santa Monica is beyond stupid. It would be more feasible to take an empty shopping mall and convert it into apartments for the homeless and put grocery stores, coffee shops, delicatessens, thrift shops and other stores in lower levels. Add places where people can go, reopen the theaters. Most malls have some kind of play area for small children. And it sure wouldn't cost $123 million. Homeless people cannot afford million dollar apartments. They need to start living in the real world. Not this fantasy.
