Seriously? Governor Whitmer has wasted more taxpayer dollars than any governor of Michigan in over the 7 decades of my life. She seems to think she is above the law. She is NOT! She needs to be accountable for the mess she has made. She's had 7 years and several tax hikes to "fix the damn roads." Maybe she should not start 20 road projects at the same time. The US 23/ 14 debacle was a three year project which only made things worse. She has I75 torn up from Grand Blanc to Auburn Hills, how many years is that project going to take? She won't be in office when it's finished. Detroit always has roads torn up. Getting from Detroit to Toledo and parts south on I75 has been torn up for at least 3 years with no end in site. I get part of that is OHIO and everything in Ohio is always torn up. US 23 coming in from Ohio is the pits. It should be three lanes. Should have been the last time they tore it up. I suspect Grand Rapids is all torn up. I know Lansing is. It's never ending in the larger cities, but the rest of the road and bridges are in need of work, too. I hate driving miles from Grand Blanc to Auburn Hills and seeing machinery and no one working. Don't put up the barrels if you aren't there yet. Don't close off the road if you aren't ready to work there yet. Take a page from Andy Beshear. Decide where the roads are worst. Set up a time frame to get the job done. Not years, months. Get at team in who can do it and get it done! in the past week and a half Old 80 from the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway to Hwy 916 which runs all the way through Nancy, Ky has been paved. They are working on the last bit now. Did I say in a week and a half? I suspect it will be done by Monday at the latest. These people are efficient. They get the job done. It was 2 years to widen I75 and redo the bridge between Berea and Mount Vernon, Ky. It was a major project started in 2018 and finished in 2020. The intersection of US 25 and Old 80 from Mount Vernon to London and Somerset was a two year project, but it eliminated a blinking intersection light and some accidents. Bridges were built the highway is divided, making it easier for everyone, unlike MI who makes things more complicated.
How you find religion is your choice. For some it's sitting in church every Sunday morning. For others it might be sitting on your porch with a cup of coffee or tea and reading scripture from the Bible every morning while the sun comes up. Find it in your own way.
I do agree with Erika Kirk and Elon Musk, don't be afraid to go to church. If you stay away, those who do wish harm to Christians will have won. I don't care what religion you follow, Judism, Christianity, Muslim, Islam, Tribal, Wiccan. or something else entirely, never be afraid to attend church, a synagogue, temple, mosque, or any other place of worship.
We do not do enough as a society for those who suffer with mental health issues. We give them a pill to take and hope they will make the next scheduled appointment. It takes so much more than that to deal with mental illness.
We coddle our children so much, that we have forgotten to teach them coping skills. How do you cope with , failure, teasing, bullies, stress, anxiety, trauma, grief, and a host of other issues. It's a basic in life. One of those is going to rock your world at sometime.
We should not be funding global health. We have enough health issues right here in the US. We should be taking care of those. Let's start with shutting down Big Pharma if they don't start producing cures for diseases. We have wasted more money on finding cures and Big Pharma comes along and buys the patent from the researchers for an extraordinary amount then buries the cure. So they can charge more and more for their promises that only make us sicker and sicker.
I'm personally looking into healing through foods and herbs. Because their are cures for cancer, some heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, some kidney and liver diseases, some thyroid diseases, and others.
While I am not Catholic, I intend to agree with this. Here's the problem. Our children no longer think for themselves. They are losing critical thinking skills. They are becoming dumb, literally. If mainstream media puts it out there, they believe it's true. Even when it's not.
Sunday's shooting at a Church of Latter Day Saints, is a great example. The first comments on the shooter, before he was identified were that he was a right-wing MAGA supporter because there was a Trump sign in his front yard. Too bad no one thought to read the sign which said. "STOP TRUMP!" Anyone who saw his social media before the FBI had it taken down would have known he was a Trump hater. There was no right-wing MAGA supporter involved. The funny thing is, they said the exact same thing about Tyler Robinson when he shot Charlie Kirk, even though it was later proven he twice donated to the Democratic party.
Before y'all get up in arms, I'm not saying all Democrats approve of these things or are doing these things, they happen on both sides of the aisle. I don't belong to and never have belonged to either party. I don't plan on joining either party in the future. I do think we need a third party. A party of the people. But that's another story.
College professors who have taught freshman English classes for decades are leaving those classes to adjunct faculty (part-time) professors. The reason is they are getting more and more freshmen in class who cannot write a coherent sentence. They are plugging research topics into ChatGPT and have it write their term papers. Yes, professors read what their students write. They get to know a student's style by the way they write. They know the difference between student written and AI written. They even have computer programs to check for AI writing.
Because of screen time, kids write in short hand. For example: how u ben? No capital letters, not the written word you, been is spelled incorrectly, and they turn papers in like this to be graded. Is this acceptable in high schools now days? I truly hope not.
Kids are so in tune to what is on social media, they don't even know how to differenciate between truth and lies. They don't question anything they hear on the news. The only kids debating anything are those on the school debate team. They are incapable of researching. I've heard, "What do you mean look it up in the library?" Because kids don't read anymore unless it's on social media.
When was the last time you saw a teenager with a book that wasn't a text book? Kids are missing all the basics today. Reading, writing, basic math skills, community (Unless it's on their phone), how to cope with difficulties, so they resort to violence. They don't know how to ask for help if something is wrong. Most of them have no one to trust. They are too busy trying to find the next big win. Or how many likes someone got on social media.
It's sad, because these are the kids who are going to grow up and be our politicians, doctors, teachers, attorneys, bankers, etc.

Congratulations to the salvage crew who found a fortune after 300+ years. I hope they celebrate in style they deserve it.
