NEWS THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO SEE
ANCHORAGE, AK - Planet Fitness’s status as a “Judgement Free Zone” appears to have significantly diminished its value as a company.
The fitness chain saw a $400 million drop in market value after they canceled the gym membership of a person in Alaska who photographed a male transgender person shaving in the women’s locker room, according to a report in the Daily Mail. Click here to read more.
MANHATTAN, NY - Manhattan’s largest neighborhood school board district approved a resolution Wednesday night demanding an examination of the current policy allowing trans-identifying males to compete in girls’ sports.
Community Education Council District 2, which encompasses Manhattan schools from the Lower East Side to the Upper East Side, voted 8-3 to request the New York City Department of Education allow a public review of the policy. It is one of six districts serving Manhattan. Click here to learn more.
WASHINGTON D.C. - The Environmental Protection Agency released what it calls the “strongest-ever pollution standards for cars,” which it claims will “expand consumer choice in clean vehicles.”
That’s a stretch: These new regulations, which are clearly beyond EPA’s defined powers, will limit overall vehicle choice and force Americans into expensive and unreliable electric vehicles.
The EPA expects plug-in electric vehicles to make up between 62% and 70% of the automotive market. But this unrealistic target ignores two key facts:
First, consumers are not lining up to purchase electric vehicles, which made up only 7.6% of 2023 vehicle sales despite heavy subsidies. Click here to learn more.
LANSING, Mich - Michigan Democrats want to give those convicted of murder, rape and other violent offenses a “Second Look” through legislation that could provide early release for thousands in state prisons.
The House Criminal Justice Committee on Tuesday held a 90-minute hearing on House bills 4556-4560, legislation that would create a process for nearly all convicted criminals to petition for a shorter sentences after only 10 years, including those sentenced to life behind bars. LANSING, Mich - On Tuesday, Senate Democrats punted on a bill that would have criminalized the act of misgendering a person or addressing them by the wrong pronouns as “hate speech.”
Instead, in an extremely unusual maneuver, the Democrats brought to the floor a previously abandoned substitute bill that specifically excluded misgendering pronouns as a hate crime after significant pushback from Republicans and the increasing unpopularity of President Joe Biden’s reelection chances in the state. I'm sorry, hate speech is derogatory speech about the ethnicity, race, or religion of a person. Am I supposed to ask everyone I meet how they identify before I insult them? Seriously? An idiot id an idiot regardless of any of the above. If I mistakenly call a male transgender person, Sir, it's because s/he looks like a male or vice versa. If you look like a woman and identify as a male, I am not trying to insult you. I don't call people by their race, ethnicity, religion, or gender as a general rule. If I come up behind you and need to get by, I generally just say excuse me. I'm not out to disparage anyone. Most people aren't. This legislation is just going to cause more trouble.
Michigan's Demonrats have lost their collective minds. If they release violent prisoners into the general public, I can only hope it's with maps to the homes of elected Demonrats. Now ask me how I really feel.
