Okay, I'm with the Governor of Tennessee on this. Those operations are irreversible. There is no changing your mind once it's done. Children are not responsible enough to make these decisions. Their brains are not even equipped to do this before age 25. That's when the frontal lobe for making decisions is fully developed. At which point, it is probably too late to make the change, but at that point they are truly a legal adult and fully capable of making the decision. People who have gastric bi-pass have to go through a comprehensive mental assessment over months before they are cleared for that surgery. Don't you think young adults should, too? I do.
