A significant ruling by the Michigan Supreme Court set to take effect in February 2025, has sparked widespread concern among small businesses across the state. The decision reinstates the 2018 voter initiatives, the Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA) and the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act (IWOWA), which mandate paid sick leave and raise the minimum wage, respectively.
Experts say this could devastate small business and workers.
