MOM AND SON ON TRIAL FOR MURDER
The trial for Deondre McLilly and his mother, Windy Weatherford, is set to begin Friday in Genesee County Circuit Court. The pair was charged with more than 40 combined felony charges stemming from the March homicide of 20-year-old Alicia Jackson-Skaggs.
I interviewed Alicia’s mom and sister who spoke out about the case and the need in helping domestic violence victims.
District Court Judge Tabitha Marsh ruled during a preliminary hearing that prosecutors had presented sufficient evidence to establish probable cause that a crime was committed and that McLilly and Weatherford were responsible.
McLilly, 22, faces charges including first-degree murder, discharging a weapon from a vehicle, assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, five counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of carrying a weapon with unlawful intent, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of aggravated stalking, two counts of domestic violence, and 11 counts of felony firearm.
SOLAR PANELS TO TAKE OVER MICHIGAN
The MI Healthy Climate Plan wants Michigan to be carbon neutral by 2050. Critics say this could hurt the state's economy, especially manufacturing jobs. The plan sets tight deadlines for businesses to switch to green energy, which might make things more expensive and send jobs away.
I talked to Marjorie Steele from the Economic Development Responsibility Alliance of Michigan below:
The move to renewable energy like wind and solar requires a lot of money upfront, and there's doubt about how much it will actually help the environment. Some worry that focusing on this plan might mean less attention on keeping jobs and keeping costs down for everyday people. Also, since Michigan doesn't produce a lot of the world's pollution, some think the plan won't make a big difference globally but could just end up costing Michigan a lot.

Government wants to create a food shortage. If we are starving they can control us and put people on public dole.
My heart goes out to this family. May the jury convict them both and sends them to jail forever.
A PPO is just a sheet of paper. They assume the woman will just go back to the man. This is a ridiculous way to handle it.
