Michigan Health Official Warns of Public Health Risks from Solar Projects

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. — A St. Clair County health official is raising concerns over the public health implications of large-scale solar energy projects and the recent state law limiting local control over their placement.
Dr. Remington Nevin, medical director of the St. Clair County Health Department, warned in an interview that Public Act 233 of 2023, which removes local zoning authority over renewable energy projects, could lead to significant health risks for rural communities.
