LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. — A Michigan man has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Livingston County, alleging sheriff’s deputies improperly seized his handgun during a traffic stop and continued holding it even though he was not charged with a firearm-related crime.

Andrew Kilbourn, of Taylor, filed the lawsuit against Livingston County, Deputy Alexander Kotsonas and an unidentified supervising deputy in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
