They raised SS by a small amount but also raised everything else. Deductible’s, coverage.
House taxes, insurance, natural gas, electricity, auto insurance etc. to the point the raise given is in the negative. It would be a good thing if someone would investigate SS and how the government has screwed us time and time again. Once you sign up for SS you’re treated as if you are irrelevant. I feel like it’s “go die you leach on society”. Doctors, hospitals treat us like cattle. Henry Ford has an answering recording that calls us customers not patients.

I understand the position you are in trying to live off Social Security. They call the boosts Cost of Living Adjustments, but how they think their calculations stand up to the affordability of things is nuts! It would be okay if they dropped the checks slightly if they gave a large boost like now, and then things were much more affordable again in the future. But the game they're playing certainly can leave you in abject poverty.
