I Walked Away From a 25-Year TV News Career. Here's Why.
I spent decades reporting the news. Then I decided to take a risk and do it on my own terms.
For 25 years, I worked in television news, holding powerful people accountable, asking tough questions, and telling stories that mattered to everyday Americans.
In 2023, I made one of the biggest decisions of my career: I left a high paying mainstream media job and went independent.
Why?
Because I wanted the freedom to cover stories without corporate pressure, newsroom agendas. I wanted to focus on facts, transparency, and the issues that impact your daily life.

Today, I report on government accountability, education, public spending, free speech, public safety, and the stories that often get overlooked by larger media outlets. I travel across Michigan talking directly to people, reviewing public records, attending meetings, and asking the questions many citizens wish someone would ask.
Over the years, I’ve built an audience of more than one million followers across social media and a newsletter community of more than 44,000 subscribers. But numbers aren’t what matter most to me.
Trust does.
My goal is simple: give you information so you can make up your own mind.
You won’t always agree with me. That’s okay.
What you can expect is honest reporting, civil discussion, and a commitment to covering stories that deserve attention.
If you’re tired of media outlets deciding what is important, I invite you to join this community.

Thank you for being here.
I’m Dave Bondy, and I’m committed to keeping it real.
