I do not regret leaving TV news
Why I made the decision and what I am doing now
When I quit my job anchoring the news I was worried I would miss my job. I worked as a local news reporter and anchor for 25 years. Reporting the news was a part of who I was.
There were several reasons why I left my job. The biggest reason was my family and my mental health. Working nightside I hardly saw my family. The stress at my job was also huge. The TV station I worked at was losing staff left and right and I was working all day and night to keep things moving on the station’s television and social media accounts.
I was also not happy with the direction of journalism. Most of the people I worked with were amazing individuals. Journalism as a whole has turned in a very bad direction.
I took the risk to leave my job, but I know I did the right thing because all of you deserve better. You deserve the truth with no spin.
I may have left my job in the corporate-controlled media but I did not leave journalism. I am now doing my own independent journalism. I am now able to give real news with no bias and no narrative.
You can also support my mission of independent journalism by becoming a paid subscriber here on Substack. I will post video of my shows I do on Locals here on Substack.
Below is one of the shows I did recently. This is what you will get if you sign up to my Locals or Substack. It’s only $5 a month. I will use that money to invest in my journalism to make sure you get real unbiased news.
