Human Trafficking is real and it's happening everywhere
I talk to a local activist who is helping to educate people about human trafficking
I talked to Elizabeth Johnson who runs an after-support care for girls and women who are survivors of sex trafficking, as well as vulnerable youth in Muskegon County.
The group serves the lakeshore area of Ottawa, Muskegon, Oceana, and Newaygo County serving ages 11 - 99 years old.
In the shadows of our interconnected world, a sinister crime thrives, preying on the vulnerable and exploiting the desperate. Human trafficking, a grave violation of basic human rights, continues to cast its dark shadow across the globe, leaving countless lives shattered in its wake.

The Global Epidemic: A Staggering Reality
Recent reports from international organizations reveal the staggering scale of human trafficking, describing it as a pervasive and lucrative criminal enterprise. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) estimates that more than 40 million people worldwide are victims of human trafficking, with 71% of them being women and girls. This epidemic is not confined to distant corners of the world but transcends borders, impacting every nation, rich or poor.
