Heartless Thief Steals Donations Meant for Child with Cancer in Michigan
How the community is responding
SWAN VALLEY, Mich - A local Michigan family, grappling with the devastating diagnosis of their young daughter, is receiving overwhelming community support after a heartbreaking theft. The Swan Valley Pay It Forward group, founded by Tracy Williams, had been collecting returnable cans to raise funds for the family of a little girl diagnosed with DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor. However, early in the morning, multiple individuals stole thousands of cans that were set to be returned for donations.
The theft occurred at Tracy’s home, where a fenced-off area serves as a drop-off point for cans. Williams confirmed the police are investigating, with video surveillance capturing the incident. Despite the setback, the community has rallied. Williams shared that donations have poured in, both monetary and in the form of cans, since the story went public. “This morning was very sad, but this afternoon, the good has prevailed,” she said.

The Swan Valley Pay It Forward group, active for over 15 years, is committed to year-round charitable work. Williams urged anyone interested in helping to volunteer, donate, or get involved via their Facebook page. For those wishing to contribute directly to the family, links to PayPal and Venmo accounts are available on their page.
In a season focused on giving, Williams expressed hope for a “Christmas miracle” — that the stolen cans might be returned. “There are more good people than bad,” she added, emphasizing the kindness that continues to emerge from this difficult situation.

There is a special place in hell for those who steal from charities.
Oh now that's just horrible
