Genesee County GOP Says Police Contacted Over Allegations Tied to Anthony Hudson
GOP says police have been notified
UPDATE FEB 23, 2026, 10:19 a.m. — Anthony Hudson has released the following statement in which he says says the Genesee County Republican Party mischaracterized his statements and argues their allegations distract from his concerns about transparency, accountability, and grassroots engagement within the local party. He denies any threats or intent to incite harm, saying his remarks were political metaphor and calling for open dialogue, records release, and honest leadership.
GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. — The Genesee County Republican Party issued a statement Saturday, Feb. 21, alleging that recent public comments and videos by Anthony Hudson contained language advocating violence against elected officials and party members.
Party officials said Hudson allegedly contacted their secretary Feb. 19 and made what they described as threatening and intimidating remarks directed at party officers, the county chair, executive committee members, and leaders within the 8th Congressional District Republican Committee. According to the statement, Hudson allegedly said he was “going to war” with the organization. The party also alleged he made false and unfounded accusations against its leadership in subsequent public appearances.

The GOP said the threats came the same day Hudson told me exclusively he was leaving the Republican Party and moving to the Libertarian Party.
The organization said it maintains a written code of conduct and does not tolerate personal attacks, intimidation, or advocacy of violence, adding that respect for the rule of law and constitutional protections is central to its principles.
The party disputed Hudson’s public claim that he was told he was “done” and unwelcome at Republican events, calling that assertion false. It said public events are open to individuals who complete registration or purchase tickets, while official party functions such as county conventions require delegates to be affiliated Republicans. The statement noted Hudson publicly declared a change in party affiliation Oct. 13, 2025.
The Burton Police Department and the Michigan State Police have been notified of the alleged threats and police reports have been filed, according to the party, which said it is cooperating with authorities as the matter is reviewed.
I have reached out to Hudson for comment.

Wow! That's a big shift from what Anthony Hudson lead everyone to believe. Wonder what caused this? He couldn't get the Republicans to back him?
I’ve wondered if the GOP party of Genesee country is really run by Democrats. This story seems to confirm it
