Deputy-Involved Shooting Under Investigation in Lapeer County

LAPEER COUNTY, Mich. — The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from the Michigan State Police to investigate a deputy-involved shooting that occurred early Wednesday in the 2200 block of Sutton Road.
According to FOX 2 Detroit, a victim at a nearby manufacturing business was shot multiple times. The shooting happened at Trims Unlimited on Van Dyke Road, north of Dryden.

After that incident, the suspect fled the scene and was later shot by deputies from the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office before being taken into custody in the Metamora area. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Michigan State Police have deployed their Special Investigation Section and the Crime Lab from Bridgeport to assist with the case. Officials are asking residents to avoid the Sutton Road area while the investigation continues.
