Currently census counts illegal migrants

WASHINGTON D.C. –  Senator Bil Hagerty has proposed legislation that would require only U.S. citizens to be counted when it comes to allocating House of Representatives seats and Electoral College votes.

Haggerty took to X posting this:

HAPPENING NOW: Will Democrats allow my amendment to prevent illegal aliens from being counted in allotting congressional seats and electoral votes to pass the Senate? This is common sense, unless your goal is using illegal aliens to increase your political power.

The vote is expected to happen Friday evening. I will update this article when I learn what is decided if anything.

The Census Bureau collects data from all foreign born who participate in its censuses and surveys, regardless of legal status. Thus, unauthorized migrants are included in Census Bureau estimates of the total foreign-born population.
