Authorities Respond to Stabbing and Shooting Incident in Traverse City

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Authorities in northern Michigan responded to a violent domestic incident Friday that left one person with multiple stab wounds and another in cardiac arrest after an apparent gunshot injury.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the 400 block of Munson Place in Traverse City after reports of shots fired during what officials described as a domestic situation.
According to dispatch information, a 58 year old woman suffered multiple stab wounds. A second person, believed to be the suspect, was found in cardiac arrest from an apparent gunshot wound.

Medical personnel began trauma treatment for the woman and performed CPR on the gunshot victim at the scene before both were transported to a hospital for further care.
Authorities said the shooting involved law enforcement, though no officers were injured.
Officials have not released additional details about what led to the confrontation. The incident remains under investigation.
Traverse City is located in Grand Traverse County in northern Michigan.
