Michigan State Police are asking people to avoid an area of Burton as officers respond to an active situation involving a domestic assault complaint and weapons.
MSP Third District said shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday that officers were responding near Egleston Street and Potter Road.
According to state police, officers are in contact with a non-compliant suspect and are working to resolve the situation safely.

Police have asked the public to stay away from the area while the scene remains active.
No additional information about the suspect, possible injuries or the weapons involved has been released.
